the labor issue

Let me know when you get the new issue of Hip Mama. And tell me what you think...

Karli sez: "I enjoyed reading this, and was amazed you were able to pull it off with a newborn. Your birth story sounded pretty amazing. Can you tell me how I can get the Joyful Birth CD you mentioned?"

Yep. You get it at Joy in Birthing.

It and its beautiful cover are sitting on the shelf of Philadelphia Community Acupuncture, more often grabbed up by the people in the waiting room. It's pretty hard not to read the whole thing in one sitting, and I sometimes feel bad interrupting them for their treatment...
Congratulations on the issue and on Maximilian!

Hi, I'm an ex-Portlander now living in the Sultanate of Oman. The first large bookstore just opened up here, and my first purchase was your "Famous Writer" book. Super-inspiring! Thanks! I've signed up for NaNoWriMo. Time to churn out a damn fine book about God & Sex. I'll mention you in the credits. ;-) Congrats on your new son and creative work.

I got my copy about a week and a half ago (in Australia), great writing as usual!! It's so nice to read other mum's stories and feel connected.

I know you're as busy as heck, so I'm suggesting this as a task for you to delegate to someone who isn't catagorized as postpartum (I do include Maria in that category!)

I was yearning to see the face-off against Newt Gingrich, the CNN interview- things that with me having no TV I never got to see. Could someone that has this media throw it on Youtube?

I bought my first copy of Hip Mama yesterday at a health food store in brooklyn and I really enjoyed reading it and look forward to getting a subscription soon! I haven't finished reading it all yet but just went for what grabbed me. it definitely caught my attention. My cousin *just* lost her baby at 7 months due to toxemia and I am far away and unable to be there, but the story at the end definitely spoke to some of her experience and I may share it with her further down the line.

Also, it was Audre Lorde who said the master's tools will not dismantle the master's house. I think someone mentioned that in birthquake.

thanks for some great reading, and congratulations!
