Hi Ariel,

Got your note and picked up a copy of your book today at Powell's. Looking forward to reading it. And hope to see you at a Portland event.

I'll be sure to spread the word. Best wishes on your soon-to-arrival, too.

This book changed my life! I'm not kidding. I read it last weekend while on a trip to go to a close friend's funeral. And along with my friend Joe's inspiring life (cut short at 33 by cancer but full of a lifetime's worth of awesomeness nonetheless), this book kicked me in the pants and said it's time to publish a zine, found a writing group, and get myself to open mics around Chicago. Done, done, and done! Thank you so much Ariel for writing this book and helping me make a silver lining out of a terrible time! (I named my new zine and writing group Silver Lining in honor of that, and we're going to focus on stories about making kickass, hilarious, delicious lemonade out of the lemons like throws at us.)

Apologies for the long comment! And congrats on all your hard work and the success it's brought you.

Rock on from Chicago,
Erin

I love this book!!

There's a fantastic review of the "How to become a famous writer...." book posted in R.J. Julia, the largest independent bookseller - located in Madison CT.

You should come up that way when you're in NYC. I bet you'd have a wonderful reception.
