They say babies born in the golden pig year will have comfortable and wealthy lives.
In line with the myth, signs point to a baby boom. Obstetrics and gynecology clinics are counseling more about pregnancy and related industries are eagerly promoting baby products. Condom sales are down 16 percent and the birth rate is expected to rise by about 10 percent.

All sounds good in your house! The new baby is gonna live large! Sadly, in our house, years of the Pig are tough ones for Snakes and Monkeys. Since our house is comprised of 2 Snakes and a Monkey, it may prove to be a rough one. It surely started out that way! With this being a "Golden" Pig Year, one can only imagine how this year is gonna go down.
The good part of the reading was that there is money to be made this year and great strides in business for us Snakes and Monkeys.
ariel - i just finished your book 'a hip mama's..' i loved it and sent it to a friend of mine who livesin italy. i have a wonderful two yr old daughter and like you am pregnant again - feeling kind of connected with this similar pregnancy timing and look forward to following your blog. are you going to homebirth? i am considering it after a intervention free hosp. birth and a realization that maybe we don't need all that hullabaloo - same goes for that formula!

Please, Ariel, tell me you're oh so much more sophisticated than this! Pigs, wealth? Where does it end? It is just to prove you're oh so much out of the mainstream? We already know that about you. Why not look at some stuff worthy of your intellect instead of this perpetual rebellious trip to nowhere?

Hey this is the best news I read this year. I did not know this was the year of the Pig. My husband was born in the year of the Pig. I am a snake, a wood snake and we will have our first baby in two months. I hope this is true about baby's born in the year of the Golden Pig.
My first baby was born 26 years ago when I was 16. I was a Hip Mama then. Today I am 41. It was easier having a baby then, physically but this time it might be easier having a baby in all other ways, except physical. I am always tired and can barely even walk. Thanks for being around and staying around so long.
