What an inspiring interview! Thank you. I write for bookslut, and I'm a Portland writer freelancing around town. After waking last night at 3 am, stressing about money and writing, to see this article helped so much. Thank you!
I love all the stuff you have up on your website. I was reading some stuff Vikki wrote this morning (on mamaphonic.com) and I got this terrible humble feeling, but terrible in a good way . . . I am so humbled by the talent of my writer friends
its like this (I read this, this morning in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein): "Sir Isaac Newton is said to have avowed that he felt like a child picking up shells beside the great and unexplored ocean of truth."
now that I'm writing on my novel fulltime - I am such a baby, I will always just be picking up the seashells, all of us will, you know? but at least . . . we are on the beach :)
I don't know! but I know this, you can' outdork me, dork! xoxooxoxoxooxoxox china
p.s. I love your website. I need to get one but I only use myspace and its pretty good
I don't think you're a dork! Does that make me a dork? I think you are inspiring and I agree with and admire your comments about being honest. Truth is something very dear to me.

Well that made me twice as happy that I ordered the book last week!!
I'll never have the money or the room, so I love the concept of not waiting - everything happeneing at once and just going with it.
I needed that today.
