Road trip!

It's day six of the peaceful occupation of Crawford, Texas, but Resident Bush still won't meet with mama Cindy Sheehan. Cindy's son, Casey, was killed in Iraq last year.

She's camped out in the hot desert sun, speaking out about the occupations of Iraq and Palestine and demanding answers from the criminal regime that killed her son along with more than 1800 other soldiers and more than 100,000 Iraqi people.

Two of W.'s aides have met with Cindy, but beyond that she's been forced to walk in a ditch to get near the ranch, smeared by the right-wing media, and threatened with arrest 'cause she's--get this--a threat to national security.

Gotta love your freedom.

Cindy is being joined by other military families and supporters from around the country.

Speaking about the dreadful loss of life in Iraq earlier this month, W. said: "We have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission." And "The families of the fallen can be assured that they died for a noble cause."

So, Cindy & members of Gold Star Families for Peace headed down to W.'s vacation home to confront him--and ask if he's encouraged his own kids to enlist.

"If he doesn't come out to talk to me in Crawford, I'll follow him to D.C., and I'll camp out on his lawn," Cindy said. "I'll go to prison. I don't want to live in a country where people are treated this way.

"I want to ask George Bush, 'Why did my son die? What was the noble cause that he died for?'" she said. "I don't want him to use my son's name or my family name to justify any more killing or to exploit my son's name, my son's sacrifice, or my son's honor to justify more killing. As a mother, why would I want one more mother to go through what I'm going through, Iraqi or American? The only way to honor my son's sacrifice is to bring the troops home now."
