Hydrated
This whole time-change thing is confusing. Half my clocks have fallen back... I can't figure out how to update the time on my cell phone. And I can't figure out where September and October went.
My office is piles of paper.
Maia's applying to colleges and trying to graduate from high school early with regular classes and after-school classes and correspondence courses and tests and all the forms and sheets and applications and booklets are scattered across my desk and through my office, into the living room and through the kitchen. School books in the laundry room. Scholarship applications in the bathroom.
My own work-life is a blur. Zine submissions are all mixed up with Maia's school assignments. Probably she's turning in your poem on post-partum depression as an art history paper.
I'm doing a liver-cleanse that involved lots of unsweetened cranberry juice. I haven't had coffee or a drink in a week. Yesterday at a pumpkin-carving party, Krystee said "you look hydrated." I'm glad of it. Hydration is important, especially when one is confused.
