The Benefits of Blogging

Yvette, mama to Noakai, read my "Pineapple Diet" blog in Brooklyn and emailed her mom, Lari, in Pearl City. Lari was at her husband's cousin's wedding, but in the morning she drove to Waikiki and picked us up for lunch in Chinatown, a drive around the island to swim with sea turtles, blue Hawaiian shaved ice, a last swim at Sunset Beach, and then back to the hotel in time to catch the bus to the airport.

So now it's like we know Yvette.

And Lari is coming to stay with us in Portland next week.

I asked her if her daughter often emails and asks her to pick strangers up in Waikiki.

She laughed.

I guess not so often.
